Short conversation with a 40 year old man who was hanging around the building with a music box.

Didn't know that the 'mosquito' device existed. He showed me another device which was a alarm that sometimes gave light.
Said himself that the "mosquito" was probably for the younger people skating there sometimes.

(there weren't any skaters at this time)

When I was looking for the mosquito, several like this device hung around the building. First thought this was the mosquito

Second suspect. and when I started moving, a very high pitched sound started going on continually. This was the sound. and I think it came from this. but...

This looks like the same device. But according to the man I had talked to this was an alarm. and it didn;t make any sound.. Because of this I started doubting if the first one was the mosquito.

Another device, a bit hidden, but it doesn;t seem like a device that could produce sound.

I heard the sound quite well and it was quite iritating.

It was a quite surounding. and pretty dark.
a couple of minutes later when I arrived. 3 younger guys where hanging around the place. But they were not loud or something.

I found the device quite fast. But the device did not make any sounds. but according to the signage it is not allowed to be in this area from 22:00 o clock. I was there at 21:15. So I think that is why it did not make any sounds yet. I am planning to go later on a another day.

The device I suspect of being the mosquito. It looked the same as the one at Maritiem Museum.

A school building, which seems to be underconstruction, and partly in use.

The device was smaller than the others I've seen and placed up higher.

I can hear the sound now on my phone. Interestingly is that the bat detector works really well to improve the loudness.

The device is protected by a metal structure with holes in it. inside you see some sort of speaker and a lamp that is never on.

I've been having contact with Bureau Stadsnatuur on Fri 4 Feb, I am able to visit them and they can show me how to do find bats and how they have been researching them.

Gemeente Rotterdam

I've have contacted the gemeente to get more info about the mosquitos. I got an email back with contact info for the person the department of neighborhood safety. I now have to make an appointment with him.
I have also received contact info for Pink Pony Express, they are doing research with people from artez into the mosquito atm.
